
RANCHO CUCAMONGA 05/10/2018 -
Seven young men from Rancho Cucamonga have earned the Boy Scouts of America’s highest advancement award, the Eagle Scout Award. Each Scout is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were recognized in ceremonies on May 10, 2018 and are part of only approximately 6 percent of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank, according to Derek Woolf, Young Men President of the Rancho Cucamonga Stake, who presented the Eagle Badges.
Each candidate had to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community or church service project to earn his Eagle. Congratulations to:
Noah Bock, 18, played baseball, soccer and Football at Los Osos High School and graduated from the school on May 23, 2018. Oceanography and waterskiing were some of his favorite merit badges. He is the son of Kevin and Teresa Bock.
JP Boyd, 14, is active in soccer, basketball and football as well as numerous martial arts. He loves to read and excels academically at Los Osos High School, where he just completed his freshman year. He is the son of Jake and Becky Boyd.
Derek Budge, 14, is involved in water polo and swimming. He is an avid reader and achieved the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout Middle School at Day Creek Intermediate School. Next year, he hopes to play for the Los Osos High School Water Polo and Swim teams. He is the son of David and Heidi Budge.
Ethan Silver, 16, was on the varsity wrestling team for two years and recognized as a scholar athlete at Los Osos High School, where he just completed his sophomore year. Ethan is a musician and loves visiting Hawaii. He is the son of Scott and Wendy Silver.
Rigdon Smart, 17, is a Junior at Rancho Cucamonga High School where he was the Varsity Wrestling Team’s scholar athlete. He has competed in cross country and track and loves all things rock and mountain climbing. He is the son of Rangi and Sara Smart.
Jacob Stock, 17, played on the Varsity Basketball Team at Rancho Cucamonga High School where he recently graduated from. He enjoys working with his hands and is good at woodshop as well as building and fixing computers, smartphones, skateboards and more. He is the son of Jonathan and Jennifer Stock.
Ethan Woolf, 17, is an avid outdoorsman and has summited Mt. Langley, Mt Hood, Cucamonga Peak, Mt Baden Powell and Mt. Baldy. He loves technology, photography, sports and musical instruments. He is a junior at Los Osos High School. He is the son of Derek and Kristine Woolf.
