On October 26, 2017 Rancho Cucamonga Stake held
an Eagle Court of Honor for our three newest Eagle Scouts.

Three Rancho Cucamonga teens earned their Eagle, Scouting’s highest rank. These young men were honored at the troop’s October Court of Honor. To attain the rank, scouts must earn 21 merit badges and complete a service project that benefits a religious institution, a school or the community.
Benjamin Lunde
Benjamin Lunde, 15, from Troop 678 is a sophomore at Rancho Cucamonga High School. For his Eagle service project he led a project to beautify two large planters at Rancho Cucamonga High School. This involved more than 50 volunteers and over 250 bushes, ground cover plants and flowers. Benjamin plays the saxophone with the RCHS Marching Band and has earned a spot in the jazz band. He hopes someday to secure a nomination to the United States Air Force Academy.
Zackary Manwaring
Zackary Bruce Manwaring, 18, from troop 678 is a senior at Rancho Cucamonga High School. For his Eagle service project they restored a fence that divided the Arbor Park with a "Wetlands" to the East. They painted approximately 180' of fence. There were 27 volunteers that provided 122 hours of service. Zackary is the president of the S.T.E.M. Club at Rancho Cucamonga High School and wants to become an Aerospace Engineer.
Hyrum Vara
Hyrum Vara, 15, from troop 694 attends Chaffey Online High School. For his Eagle service project he painted light poles on walkways in between houses in Rancho Cucamonga so that the people in the neighborhood were more pleased with the look of their community. He did this with the aid of some members of our church as well as some family and friends. Hyrum is a musician and he is starting a band with some of his friends outside of school. He wants to work for law enforcement when he grows up.
